oh man, sorry about your ticket but you have to admit even IF the speed limit was 55 you were still going 62....not much you can do about that.

I've been fortunate lately to not get tickets. I think everyone in the small town I live in just knows me by now.

62 in a 55 i would have gotten away with. Cops are supposed to allow you 8 over. i havent gotten a ticket in 7+ years... was going 84 in a 70 back then. (of course my speedo said i was going ~5, since it was broken)

I thought that they gave you leeway in a range of about 10% off from the posted speed, as that compensates for the accuracy of their radar and laser guns?

However, Matty is right - 1mph over is speeding. I once got pulled over for going 3mph over the speed limit, 28 in a 25. I was speeding, then I saw this white Astro van ahead of me. I thought it could be a cop....and it was. I slammed on the brakes, and tripped his radar at 28. I think he still pulled me over because he saw the car nosedive under braking, and knew better that I was speeding. He stuck his head into my car and with a stern voice and a straight face told me "The speed limit is not 28... it is not 27... it is 25". It was one of those moments when you don't know if you want to laugh or cry. Unreal.

that's wierd, a copy told my wife (back when she was in school) that they were supposed to give you 8, maybe times have changed?

and i have a friend who used to be a cop, he gave people 20mph over.

if they are going to give you 8mph over why not just bump the speed limit 8mph and hold everyone to it rther than have some secret code that no'one knows?

In my home town, the police used them for several years for the sole purpose of setting up speed traps. Weirder yet, I have seen a Dodge Ram truck with flashing red and blue lights, pulling someone over...

if you want more info check out www.postert.de or check the vendor section for more of my pics and info. Do a search on this forum for "postert"....you'll find plenty.
