It's the same really, but has different (BETTER!!) coil packs and plug wires that mount on the front of the valve cover. I just wanna get a nice powdercoated valve cover, and 626 ones seem to be the only ones available for sale. Since our cars share the same engine it's a pretty easy swap, but just requires relocation of the coil packs and utilizes actual plug wires for all 4 cylinders as opposed to the little boot things we have on the P5. See pic below ..

It's still a wasted spark ignition system though. The ECU will still fire the plugs twice as often as needed, in pairs, etc.

I can't wait to have my motor in the car. '86 GXL with a 13b hybrid, '91 turbo rotors, mazdatrix carbon apex seals, 4 barrel Holley (might need to change to something with a side draft) oh yeah and it's a J-bridgeport.

It is a stockport 12a right now. Carburetor is a OER 45mm. I have a -SE 13b and a spare 12a in the garage with some bridgeport plates. That engine will be a 13b 4 port full bridge. I also have a TurboII turbo and manifold at the house I may throw on as well. I will be content with 350 whp

Is yours turboed? Mind if I ask why you put the S5 turbo rotors in it? I thought those had lower compression. I was thinking of running an S5 engine for the extra oomph, but the thought of a 4 port lures me like no other.

Haven't gotten to my RX-7 yet. Will post a pic of the Protege later this weekend once I get the AWR installed. In the meantime, here's my other Mazda...

The rotors used were the lightest made, no turbo, N/A will be close to 300Hp
