not how much boost you can throw at it...
I wasnt talking about blowing it up with alot of boost, if you watch the rotary destruction videos they usually try to trash an engine before stuffing another one in there, I seen one where it had a bad rotor seal and it still took them 10 minutes of straight redlining at 9,000rpm (and even pulling the rad cap off) before the thing finally died! I don't think that a piston engine can take 9000 rpm straight with a bad piston and the radiator cap off.. heh. I've even seen people still pulling 12's-13's with a bad rotor.

The SHO engine will be EFI...and boosted.
Why are you not wanting a boosted rotary?

you're putting a piston engine in it?
I've never understood why people do that....

t24u, nope. the car had problems somewhere in the electrical/wiring/ecu of the rotary engine. Too much work to track it all down. With the carb system I could yank 99.9% of all electrical and make MORE power.

ghettopro, you will when you have to Pay for all the work and mods.

cost is usually a big factor. however in alot of cases weight is also an issue. oddly enough a 13b-rew with everything on it only weighs 60lbs less than a LS-series chevy engine

Yeah, I just like the thought of having a rotary regardless of its power.
There is an RX-7 around here that has some kind of large chevy V8 in it...

yeah, V8 swaps are super common and much faster than typical turbo rotaries.

There are some big pluses to this swap (IMO)

PRO's:

1. Torque
2. Cost
3. Mileage
4. Uniqueness
5. Torque
6. Reliability
7. Cost
8. Looks

CON'S:
1. uh....
2. Rotary backfire fireball show
3. rotary noise on open exhaust
4. 35K rpm redline

Yeah, my friend used to want an RX-7 with an LS1 swap...If you source the car an engine this company down south will do all the work for you!

There are shops that do nothing but make adapters to bolt V8's into FC's.....I'm working with one about swapping this V6 into it.

They have a Nissan VQ30 kit already so it's not TOO far of a stretch and a SHO is a much better engine than a Nissan Quest V6

oops. I looked at the engine in their pics and it's the same generic V6 they used in everything from the altima/maxima/quest. It's not the new 350Z engine that makes good power but an older style that was used in mostly FWD applications.
