Pics of my 03 LX

Got my wheels and tires on so I thought I would take a few pics. I need to learn how to use the new camera though. I got the wheels of Ebay for 335.00 shipped, and the tires are a new brand from Firestone called FUZION. They are H rated (160 mph) 340 tread wear. for 98.00. Not to bad if you ask me! I put 300 miles on them on Saterday and the handle great.

Looks great! I like the bronze with the dark green. They'd look awful on my silver car, though.

Yea I was kinda worried about how theyed look. But I think it tured out pretty good.
Oh and does any one want to trade out Dave B rings. or just sale theirs. I'm wanting the polished ones now. When I got the brushed I wasn't going to put a headunit in the car, I was gona stay stock. Should have known that would last.
But the brushed don't go with the crome deck.

bronze + green is a great combo, and it looks very nice on your car

my only comment is ... can't you do something about that humongous dealer advertising badge on your trunk? the "SOUTH" part?

I was just talking to a friend of mine about that. Those and the chrome Mazda emblem on the front and the LX on the side needs to go. But if you take those off will it mess up the paint. I don’t want to mess it up. Does anyone know how to de badge?

for the SOUTH one, take a hair dryer and soften up the glue underneath, there shouldn't be any posts so it should come right off, and any excess glue can be removed with some goo gone and wax

the LX on the side is just a sticker, and it's painted underneath so the sticker should come off with heat, maybe leaving a little glue that should come off with goo gone / wax

the Mazda emblem on the front is glued and has posts - you can get it to come loose with a bit of heat and by pushing on the tabs from behind the grille, but it won't look quite right without it (I know, mine was stolen) so you'll probably want to paint it black and put it back on

My thoughts exactlly. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try this weekend. Are there any after market grills for the plain proteges?

we've been trying to get one for a long time, but alas still none

this thread started out about 99-00 grilles, then us 01+ers pounced on them to talk them into making some for us as well... unfortunately still nothing

I like it. Yeah, I'm waiting, too.
And uh, hughes412--if you can't find someone to trade with I'd be interested in your brushed ones.
