Polygonal Lasso tool & zoom in! It takes time to get used to. Make sure you make really short moves with lasso.

But if you zoom right in, how do you continue to make selections of parts out of the screen??

Duhhhh, sorry about that.... just found out I was using the other lasso and when you move it to move a zoomed image, it can't be adjusted... tried the poly lasso and works much better... Didn't even know it was there!!! Thanks!

No problem. Keep working at it, it will get frustrating at times, but practice really does make perfect with chopping!

All I want to know is how to change the colors of cars? I've been working with photoshop for like 2 months and still can't figure it out.

Take the polygonal lasso tool, zoom in really tight, and make short moves surrounding the entire outside of the car. You will then have parts you don't painted, so hold ALT and deselect these parts with the same polygonal lasso tool. Once you have the parts selected that you want painted, go to Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation and remove all Saturation. Next go to color balance and play with the colors until you achieve the color want. To tweak even more, after the Color Balance, go to Levels and Curves to tweak it to your liking.

Here's a couple more...

Chop-It-Up
Photo-Chop

These helped me some, but not nearly as much as Photoshop Junkie, they rule! I proposed a Photoshop Forum here and at the other forum, but I have heard no response.
