My New Protege 2002 ES

Let me know you all think. Thanks

I have added Black light sensitive racing pedals with a
black light under the driver side dash and a black light
under the passenger side dash. Looks great when a
passenger has tennis shoes on.

Also have added a Mazdaspeed carbon fiber emblem on the
rear of the car.

Future mods include an AEM intake and a Sony Xplod MP-70
head unit.

Did you add those sidemarkers as well? Do you have a closeup shot?

Did you do the wiring for the underseat lights yourself cause Im thinking of doing that myself. Thanks

Yeah I did all the wiring myself for the underlights. I was able to find two blacklights that were tied into the same power connection. That made it a lot easier. What also made it easy was the open area behind the dash area and the center console. This made it easy to centralize the cables and keep clear and hidden.

Here is a pic of the sidemarkers. They came standard

those side markers are part of the 2002.5 "mid-year refresh" equipments, along with the new style stock 16" rims.

Those side markers look hella good in my opinion. I wouldnt mind having those on my car. I wonder how much for the dealer to install.

The dealer would most likely charge you a fortune to do that. Try to find a auto customizing place around you.

Nice car. Have you ordered the strut bar yet?

Nice car! Didn't realize they put the refresh in effect for the sedan as well as the P5. I have a "refreshed" Protege5 and love it!

No Panther I haven't had a the money yet to order the strut bar for it. Hopefully soon though. Will be a nice addition.

Also planning on painting the lettering on the engine as well. Probably yellow since the strut bar only seems to come in that color

Yeah the side markers and the 16" alloy wheels were all standard. Haven't got a clue how much they would charge to add that on. I can only imagine it would be big bucks

when you get your strut bar , take it to a body shop and have them sand it down and paint it the color of your car ,, that would look super tight when you pop your hood ,,.. I don't know if anyone has thought of that

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Thanks. I was either thinking of a red or just going Chrome. Right now though I am trying to decide to I buy a AEM Short Ram Intake or a Apexi N1 Muffler. Cost isn't the issue I just don't know which would be better for me right now.
