Coming soon to a theater near you.....
Police car chase scene involving a FHP Mustang and my Mazda 323.
The owner of this SSP Florida Highway Patrol Mustang lives above me, we known each other for about about 15 years. We have been into Mustangs for a loooooooong time.
Recently we got into the SSP thing. He bought a FHP car that was partally completed. (fully drivable & partally marked but needing improvment) We finished it up last year. Was alot of work getting all the correct info about the car. Only has 77k on it, perfect interior, no accidents, same cop driver all it's service life with all the history on the car and maintanence records. We did a TON of reasearch & work to put that car back to the way it was when it was in service. Not an easy thing to do to aquire all the correct parts. It is 100% correct and full service ready in excellent condition. Great for car shows, cruises and parades. It's a very nice tight clean piece.
We contacted the original patrolman who drove the car throughout it's service life, obtained the correct radar unit for it, put the correct # back on the roof, and so on. Just went over the entire car basicly fixing up the loose ends. Partial to full restoration. Took 1st Place at last summers Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Show. It's currently for sale for $13,000.
I thought it would be kinda neat to film a brief chase scene using the two cars and make it available for download.
Filming should take place within the next few weeks.

hmmmmm
Police car chase scene involving a FHP Mustang and my Mazda 323
Have to be honest here.... I find it kinda odd that my post about my 89 323 & my buddies FHP Mustang filming a chase scene needed to be moved.
I mean really......

It's a film about MY 1989 323 being chased by that car!
How much more on-topic can you get?
Sheez...
Keeping the forum organized it one thing, but playing Forum Police like a Mall Cop behind a keyboard is another.

Are any of the cars going to sideswipe each other? And crashes?
I think were going to leave that part out
Basicly just going to be a brief chase scene. I don't want it to be TOO large or long. Trying to keep the download to a minimum so dial-up users can get it fairly easily.
My goal is to go for a little bit of everything in a minimum amount of time. Doing it in an emply industrial park area on a Sunday. Just hoping the REAL cops don't show up. LOL We have to stay off public roads and hope not to get caught. They probably wouldn't do anything, but with breaking so many laws I wouldn't want to go thru the hassle.
Our window of oppertunity is very short. Will be 3 of us (1 camera man / 2 drivers) and once we arrive at the scene we will walk through it together. Only get one take..... can't be messing around. Just before were about to roll we will "uncover the badges & light bar" on the FHP (at that point there is no turning back) and communicate with 2-way radios for the take.
Scene plays out like this......
Camera man will film me coming around the bend sideways from behind the building toward him at full steam on the only straight-away in the plant. Video will capture me coming & going.
At that point the camera man will pan 180 degrees where I originally came from to capture the FHP in hot pursuit. The FHP will follow the same suit only he will be using just the lights at first, then throw on the siren after he passes.
This way viewers can see both cars, hear the engine & exhaust coming & going thru 2nd & 3rd gear seperately, without much of a risk.
We felt it was worth making because both Mustang & 323 communities & enthusists will enjoy it.
