I got Enkei RS6's 18" with Nitto 450s 215/35/18. So far I havent had too much problems with rubbing. I did have them rub once when I was going fast and hit a dip in the road.

*also, If anyone is interested in buying my stock wheels pm me. I want $350 OBO, buyer pay shipping, tires are like new 6,000 miles on them, and rims are in perfect mint condition

I figured someone would eventually ask this. Someone always does. I think it looks good the way it is. The larger rims at least put less space between the wheel well and the rim. I don't see any excess gap. I suppose it could be lowered (more, if it is lowered some already) but I don't see a point. Anyway, looks great. either way.

 

I bought 18s so I would not have excess gap. I have not lowered it and do not plan to. When you lower it, you just ruin the ride quality. I like it the way it is. If my car looks stupid after i put my front lip on, I may consider lowering. Also, read my post earlier, they already rub a little, if i lowered it then i would have to get the fenders rolled. Also, you risk getting uneven wear on your tires when you lower it from not being aligned right. Just seems like a lot of trouble for a couple inches.

 

I don't think the car is lowered but it looks good either way. There is significantly less gap with the new wheels compared to what it was stock.

Lowering the car is not only for looks, it's for performance as well.

 

If you lower it you will have lots of problems with rubbing due to the fact the offset on those wheels are not correct for our cars. I can tell you first hand that it will rub. You would have to get camber bolts to correct the problem. I have the same wheels on my car. If you do lower it i would suggest the sportline kit from eibach. I still have an extra set off camber bolts brand new, pm me if you are interested. Here are some pics of my car.

If you have the money I recommend that you do what serpentkilla did to his to lower it. It looks great as it is but looks even better lowered a bit!

 

as much as I like you nate I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one, the less space between body and wheel the better IMO. Even if it costs a little extra for the camber plates. But it's all subjective, nothing written in stone, no wrong or right here. I worked with a guy from Mexico. Damn good guy. But the more **** he did to his ford escort, the uglier I think it got. That's my opinion. And opinions are like ********, everybody has one.

 

In general, I agree. I guess I was just saying it will still look very good if he decides against lowering. Especially since they're 18s.
