Can anyone help me out with iPhoto on Mac OSX Tiger? I need to know how to reduce the file size of my pictures in my library. I've got a ton I'd like to post but they are way too big. I've tried the help and tutorial and everything seems to be about enhancing size and quality, not decreasing.

 

hm... i know a quick workaround, select the files you want to "post" and then "email" them, choose a smaller size, and they will appear in a new email. drag those files out to a folder, small files!

oh, and i dont have latest iphoto @ work, still have the export feature?

 

You use the Export feature under File and decrease the size in there.

 

ok, all it tells me is that I can choose a physical size of the picture, not how large the file size is.

how do I know what dimension I needto make a picture for it to be uploadable here??

 

small.. haha... 640x480 should work. nice n' big, but still uploads, right? aint 500k the new limit

Upload your pics to Imagecave, they give you 10mb of space free and will optimize the pics for viewing if you want.

 

10mb wont help when each one of my 100 pictures is 2.5Mb each.
