4/27/03 Gulf Coast Region Autox Pics

Starring...

the SLOWTEGE!!!

More pics here:
http://www.morrownet.net/negatize/autox3/

I ran dual driver with Christi who has an FC FX7. I was the one taking pics, so no pics of me driving. Man, I wish I had the spinout I did on tape. My very first run of the day, second car to get going btw, I spin out not once but TWICE so bad that I went off course. I shredded my old Firestones, the tread was seperating from the tire, so I switched back to my 17s in the second heat.

First run - 91.xxx seconds
My best time - 69.1xx seconds
Best in STS class - I think 65.xxx seconds (Jason w/ the Mazda MP3)

The 'Slowtege' ......

Pics look awesome. Man, you're going to have to replace the 17" tires pretty soon if you keep using them.......they are not cheap you know

Yeah I know; I had no choice though. Either risk a blowout on my old tires or run with some good ones. I'm thinking of getting some Falken Azenis tires to put on my old steelies.

I too need to replace my tires for the oem wheels. The Azenis seem to be very popular in autocrossing so I might check them out. Do you know the price for 14's ??

I downloaded that video you posted yesterday, but haven't watched the whole thing yet. Looks fun as hell. Never knew that some of the cars pick up that much speed around the cones!

Thanks for that link. That's pretty cheap actually. Once summer is over, I'll probably go ahead and order them!

hey

Well, like I said, I'd behave on your car this time and I did... You did good, and thanks for letting me abuse the car a bit . I think I got some video shots of your car as well, I'd have to re-look at the video. I could have taken some pics if you asked me too ya know

I'll be posting up some video shots later on this week, if I ever get them uploaded to the computer.

I do not think I did, but I can see if Allen Givens did, he did more taping than I did. I'm sure he did though, he gets most of the good shots. He's not online right now, but when he does, I'll surely ask him

Yeah, this month was a lot of fun. I'm gonna have to get a set of Falken Azenis tires for my steelies since my crappy tires are toast. Right now, I don't know which autox I'll be going to next month. Either way, it's gonna be fun as hell, so you better show up!
