I think the cheapest I seen them is $399.00 + shipping. For a 6000k

 

bah 6000 is worse than 5500 and that's worse than 4500K.

4500K produces 3200 lumens. 5500, 2600 lumens. And 6000 less again.

Reason being it uses a different gas to produce a slightly different color. 5500K has a slight blue hue and 6000 a purple hue.

Just as a reference the Protege5 halogen's are rated at 1500 lumens.
