I think with one word I can summarize the answer for "why do I want one of those two?". The word is Canon My sis uses a Canon EOS Rebel 2000 (35 mm) and it takes beautiful pictures. Also I had seen pics that someone took. I can't remember right now who it was, but they were so crisp and full of color.

 

Well in Consumer Reports the Kodak somethin was first and then was the Canon A40 in the 2MP section

 

you can get an a40 plus 64mb memory and others on ebay for under $200. See em all the time. I paid 350 for mine with batteries and memory.
