Anyone have a decent extra 16" tire? I smacked something in the road and sliced my sidewall.

 

How long did you have your car before this happened?
Did the same thing 1 week after I picked up the car and Mazda paid for the tire. Still had to pay labor for mount and balance though. Mazda or Dunlop will only do this if the car is new - like the first month or so.

25k miles. Not enough miles to justify a new set, too many miles to put on 1 new tire. Probably way out of range where they would give me a new one.

It still holds air and has no bulges. The slice is still attached. I may attempt to cob it up and see if I can eek a few more miles out of it.

 

I would say replace two of the tires. I would not reccomend driving around with a sliced sidewall. It may hold air fine now, but dive into a turn to hard and you will be asking if anyone has an extra 16" wheel

 

Or a reapeat firestone incodent! I'll look into getting a set of two.
