New Products for Protege5 Online?

I was thinking of adding a couple of new small items to the For Sale page. I wanted to get everyones views to decide if I should. How about this stuff?

Valve Stem Lights (these are the valve stems that light up at night when you are driving)
Windshield Washer LEDs
APC Clear front corner markers (these would probably be from the Neon)
bulbs for the rear lights
liscense plate bulbs
HID lighting (this one would be a bit harder & expensive!)
Car Audio equipment (it would mainly consist of Sony, Blaupunkt, JVC, Cadence & a few others if I did it)
Some of the Mazda OEM stuff like the engine covers, front skirt, etc.
CF Hoods (already adding this if I can get enough response on the initial order)
Protege5 Online liscense plate frames
Stickers (got some but I need ideas for a couple more)
Hood scoop
Wings West Body kits (or any other body kits that come out)
Tires & rims (If I carry these & the prices where right & the right rims...would people buy them? And what should I consider carrying? Im in the process of dealing with Tire Rack so I'll carry everything they have...but is that enough?)
Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help guys. I want to make this site what you all want so I want you to have a hand in it. Im open to suggestions. I also want to add a live chat room to the site. Any web guys out there that know a good way to add a chat room?

Re: New Products for Protege5 Online?

I like the idea of all the hard to get stuff, i.e. oem mazda stuff, CF hoods, and maybe body kits. if you have a listing of body kits, and state who makes them, it would be easier to go to your site to track down those hard to find stuff. i personally think you should stay away from the audio and led lighting stuff. you can get those anywhere, for cheap! definitly get some "Protege5 Online" merchandise. then we all can let others know about the site!

Hey Mitch.

I like the idea about adding the hard to find parts. Any luck finding shift ***** for the auto trans?

I'd be great if someone would look into any JDM parts that might be retrofit-able to the P5. I've been wondering if the Japanese/Euro market cars have equipment that's not included on our cars for whatever reason.

-Variable intermittent wipers
-Auto down and up windows
-Auto passenger windows (maybe we can retrofit the drivers switch from our cars..?)
-Auto trans gear display on instrument panel (just read a thread about this)
-Audio goodies
-Trim parts

I know none of these are performance enhancements, but I think it's fun to add on these little goodies. I had a Jetta before my P5 and there was a ton of equipment available from other markets.

Great job so far on protege5online!

Mitch, first let me say you're doing a great job ever since you started your store. I'll be definetely talking to you about my LX 2.0 in the spring around March (for my b-day hehe).

I don't think that you should add any universal parts as these can be obtained anywhere, but rather parts that can only fit our proteges, and preferably all of the models

I like most of those ideas. The only things I don't like are the light-up stuff. Basically I don't like those items period, but also the fact that they are available at auto parts stores. I don't think you should waste your money on those, cause the markup would have to be pretty high to turn a profit, right? The auto stores would probably have the upper hand.

I like the Protege-specific or harder to find items. Any shift ***** for automatics, maybe indiglo gauges, etc. Keep up the great work, and if you come across any of those zoom zoom stickers, I'll be glad to take one off your hands!

Thats what i was thinking about all the light stuff. I dont care for them myself but I figured I'd see if anyone else wanted the stuff. I do think I want to do the clear sidemarkers though since they dont actually make on for our cars & you would have to know which ones fit. And I do like clear sidemarkers. I just added the Hose techniques engine dress up kits to the site that where made for the 2001 Protege & Protege5. These look nice. I should have some rims available soon too. But not a ton, and only ones that will fit the Protege5 & the tires to go with them. Those are pretty easy to add to the lineup of parts & rather easy for me to sell also. The stereo stuff is questionable but I have it available if I decide I want to do it or anyone wants anything. I just want to add some new stuff. Some good stuff. Any suggestions?

Well Mitch, all the rims will also fit the ES models, as they have the same bolt pattern of a P5. in fact they have the same rims as the P5.

Would like to see of you could get the upper strut bar from the P5 or MP3. A great deal of sedan owners, me first are looking to add that little goodie to our car.

Im waiting on some prices to see what i can get all the Mazda OEM stuff (strut bar, engine cover, etc). I should be able to get it for cheaper than your local dealer. At least I hope! Anyone know what the dealer price is on the MP3 engine cover & the Strut bar?

Iknow that mazdastuff.com has the strut bar kit, including all the stuff and brackets to install it for 140 $. You might want to check their website.

Thanks Mitch

Hi Mitch

This is a little off topic but recently when I visit protege5online my system really slows down. Any idea why? It started this behaviour this week.

Hey Mitch:

How about trying to get a group deal on the RX-7 clear bumper side markers that will fit the P5? I remember you mentioning it in another thread a while back. I've found them for $139-159 USD. Seems pretty steep! Hope you can help!
