you better keep that stuff , cause if you sell the car with the jspec bumper and they get in a accident , they can sue you

damn ..... I have no intention of selling my protege with the bumper on it ... I think there would be legal issues with that , that could be thrown in my face.. just to risky for my blood

why r u selling the bumper reinforcement? u need that to legally put the car on the street. besides, many places state u need to remove it for bodykits when you dont. i've got a erubini 2nd gen kit and all i had to do was drill 4 holes in the reinforcement to help hold the front end in place, when they said it'd need to be removed.

do not remove it. if you get into a high speed accident, you will die.

at any rate, if your putting the jspec cover on, it's already cut to fit around the reinforcement as they are the same for all 2nd gens.

Well, I guess you'll find out when you get it. Ask Bruce, he has a J-spec bumper.

Without a reinforcement, the only thing seperating the engine from impact is a crossmember that's about 1mm thick and can be bent with bare hands. There's a very good reason reinforcements are legally required on all passenger cars :\

the way i had it explained was the reinforcement is a 5 mph bumper and the jspec is a reinforced bumper that is rated at 3 mph so you lose 2 mph of protection

Samus read this , on my site, I clearly explained what I did to install my bumper .. You will notice something there that I had to do ... Look close ....

i asked around a bit and you can legally remove the reinforcement and still drive on the road... also i doubt it makes that much difference in high speed accidents considering that so many cars come stock without the reinforcement
