I have been having massive trouble finding a part for my 2002 Protege5, you may be able to help me.

I am looking for the mounting bracket for the brake caliper for the left rear. The dealer can only order the caliper, or the entire brake assembly (from what they are telling me), and the mounting bracket is unorderable from every parts store i am finding up here. Proteges are rare enough as well, that I haven't found any luck in junk yards yet.

Shipping to 02915

While you are at it, toss me pricing on the caliper as well, since I haven't ordered that yet either.

The bracket comes included in my caliper kit. I suggest you visit your local NAPA and ask them for"

SDC 24262226 It'll be about $80+55core.

no, you just didn't give me enough information to look it up accurately. they made more than 1 model of 626 throughout the years.

geez.....

the fronts are the 2001+ (i assume) 626 V6 set-up, the rears are stock 2001 ES / MP3 set-up. i was also under the impression that the front rotors are the smae as equipped on the mazdaspeed protege's

Yeah the rotors are a direct swap, and pads can work between the two but from what I recall seeing, the 626 pads have more surface area than the stock MSP pads (they go all the way down to the rotor hat).

AND, did you know that the stock ES pads (front and rear) are interchangeable between MSP and ES? (in case you wanted less front bias on your MSP, for some reason)

i don't need pads, just the rotors - going to go with Hawk HPS pads.

Yeah I knew someone that needed pads badly on their MSP (bad enough that he had to get them locally) and he had to go with ES pads.

I appreciate the information, however it is somewhat coming back around to you

I contacted 2 of my local NAPA Autoparts stores, and neither had it, and said they would have to order it. Then they checked wharehouses, and reported that no NAPA wharehouse has it either.

The dealer wants $483 for the same pieces, so trying to avoid going through them.

Do you have a work-around for this by any chance? maybe have one in stock? If not will put up a thread here looking for help from owners.

so, no mazdaspeed protege / 626 v6 front rotors available, or what? what about rear 2001+ protege es rear rotors?

I'm no longer offering anything anymore. I've left the company and no longer do business with them. Sorry.

I used to be in an "acquiring phase" of my life. Now I'm in a "simplification phase".

The less crap I have to pay for the beter off I am right now.

napa was fine but apparently I didn't live up to their expectations.
