99-00 EVO style fiberglass hood

Features:

- Rolled edges. Much nicer visually, you can't see the layers of fiberglass on the edges when the hood is shut. Much smoother and better esthetics.

- Hinges and front locking system 100% compatible with stock Mazda system. No need for cheap looking hood pins (unless you really want some). Hinges and front lock use metal plates with real nuts. No screws directly in the fiber (Duh!).

- The hood has a slightly modified (to clear the traps) version of the stock reinforcement (underhood part). All the stock adjustable rubber 'bumpstops' will support the hood just as the factory hood. The rear 'pads' where the hinges bolt has been made SLIGHTLY lower so that the hood MAY have to be shimmed in order to fit perfect on the rear. So no chance that it was made too high and nothing to do to fix it.

- The underside is glued with the top hood part on the outer edges and is held in place in the center with beads of urethane, just like the factory hood.

- The factory stick to hold the hood opened is still functionnal and the stick will not stand on the upperside of the hood (which has been seen on carbon fiber hoods) so no chance to have a nice bump on the hood over time.

- The holes for the factory windshield sprayers are there and are EXACTLY at the same place as a factory hood

- The hood has 8 draining holes to evacuate water between the upper and underside of the hood.

- The hood is 20 pounds LIGHTER than stock. Yes ladies and gentlemans, it weights HALF of the stock hood and is NOT limp AT ALL!

- Price will be 440$ us funds + shipping. If you think this is expensive, try to find better quality at that price. Our hoods are delivered primered and will need to be painted by a qualified (or not, you decide) painter. And I can garantee the hood won't need to be re-worked... our hoods are STRAIGHT.

My company is SRP-Technologies ...

60$ should get the hood at your place. I have none in stock but if you really want one, just give me 4 - 5 days and then I can ship it to you.

man, tell me you can make one for the 02 - 04 protege....
I'm starting the mold next week for '01-'03 Proteges.

I wonder if this person is an authorized vendor or if he's another guy who just jumped on and his first post is trying to sell something.......(I already know the answer to this question).

Well, I don't have the insurance check, YET. When you say it may need to be shimmed, I imagine you mean to use some washers to get a perfect fit??........................Oh yeah, what method of payment do you take???

I sent my email to register as a vendor but I offered my product the day before.

Is that a crime? If so, SORRY!

Yeah that text is old... as we did the molds, we thought it was better lower so it can be shimmed, than higher and nothing to do about it. But of all the hoods sold and installed to date (3), none of 'em needed shim, it fitted PERFECTLY as the pics show.

Payment... PayPal or international money order.

I'ts not a crime but I'm very sensative about people who just show up on this board and advertise stuff for sale without making any contributions. This isn't Ebay. We just try to keep out random junk dealers (not that you are).

agreed that a 99-03 hood would be nice. I'd like one.

What do you mean by contribution? I will contribute in any way I can... I own a Mazda and like Mazda and I'm willing to help anyone. I'm opened to any ideas for new Mazda products. If you meant $$ contribution for the board, then just tell me how and I'll be happy to send a contribution since I can use this board as priceless publicity. It's the least I can do.

About junk stuff, I understand since tuning is a gold mine for too many companie offering cheapo stuff. But mine isn't cheapo stuff... need customer testimonials to prove it? No problem. I'll feed ya!

by "contribution" I mean be an active and participating member....when someone (vendor) registers and their first post is soliciting business it looks very bad...and rude.

Ususally people start off with introductions, a little abotut heir car, where they live, what they do....then they mention...oh by the way I also work in CF if anyone is interested in a hood.

see what I mean?
