Now that a mechanic came & took out both my engine & transmission to buy the transmission, I can sell the stuff I wasn't willing to sell because of the engine/tranny being in the way. Engine has a SOHC head on it but it's the same lower engine block that you can put your DOHC head on. I really don't expect to sell the engine here. It will probably sell like the tranny or on ebay. I don't sell my parts expensive like the dealer nor even like your local auto parts store, however, I don't sell them at junkyard prices. I will use the distributor as an example. The dealer wants over $300 for a new one. Your local auto parts store wants something like $170 for a remanufactured one. I will sell it at $95 with shipping already included. Already sold from the car on ebay, locally and on forums are:
Headlights, right corner light, hood, both fenders, grille, hood latch, front bumper, front stabilizer bar, transmission, struts & coils, console, radio bezel, A/C compressor and other miscellaneous items. If you can find the distributor for less at a junkyard then buy it. I've found that after I do the work of removing the part(even with engine/tranny out), wasting time driving around looking for a box, using gas, packing the item, driving to the shipper, waiting in line, etc, that it's not worth it. I end up getting paid for my work with the money I made and making nothing on the part. In the meantime, the person that got it so cheap just gets off his couch to get his part from the UPS guy. Ofcourse he has to install the part but I'm talking about what's involved in making the sale on my end. I just say this so I don't read someone replying "That's a ripoff man, I can get that for $$ at the junkyard". You know what I mean? If you're interested in something, just inquire and don't attack.
