I've had the same PC I built 3 years ago. It USED to be nice : )~

PIII 650 (100mhz bus) : (
192M RAM
Leadtek Geforce 256 32M DDR (One of the original DDR Geforce cards, still kicks ***)
8 gig maxtor
30 gig maxtor
8/4/32 sony spressa SCSI burner
8x DVD drive
TV tuner card w/ remote
etc.

I also have a
Dell Latitude CPI (notebook)

128M RAM
10gig IBM
Actually runs win2000 prett well! : )

This summer I'm going to build a new PC:

AMD Athlon XP 1.8ghz or higher
512M PC2700 DDR
Asus A7V333 (USB 2.0, firewire, onboard 6 channel sound)
Geforece 4 4200
Maxtor or Western Dig. 40 gig or larger drive
New DVD drive (the old one sucks)
40/32/40 Plextor burner
19" flatpanel CRT

I'm going to use my old PC as a possible file server, and also play around with linux on it.

Gateway advertised a payment plan. Like a 36 month plan or something. But instead it ended up being a revolving credit plan with 26% interest. Then to dodge the attacks they sold our accounts to different banks so that now we do not do business with Gateway. In fact so many people have been scammed that the bank itself sold our accounts to another company so that now I am paying someone totally unrelated to gateway.

A 52X CD-Rom drive that doesn't work
A 3.5" floppy drive
