not sure if you guys found this in your glove compartment when you took delivery of your car, but in mine I have the actual inspection sheet of my car coming out of the factory in Hiroshima (aka it's 'real' birth date!) 
So, my car's 'birthday' is March 22, 2000
and I adopted it on July 4, 2000 (how patriotic!)
18k miles and running strong!
