Dude...the EVO VIII is so damn ugly. WTF was Mitsubishi thinking?

My money is going to be on a World Rally Blue Pearl WRX STi when it comes to the states!!!

The only complaint I have with the EVO VIII is the headlights, that is some fugly stuff, but other than that I think the car is just as nice as the impreza. Just my opinion.

chastan:

I liked the old WRX just fine (even the headlights ), but this looks pretty sweet, hehe. If they changed it structurally maybe it could be called a redesign... at least that's how I think of it. They did change all of the imprezas... maybe that means the forester will get a redesign... IMO it needs it, but I doubt it will actually.
the 2003 forester has recieved a bit of a freshening up for next year. they've been available in canada for the last few months and i am surprised you haven't seen one yet down there. imo they look really sharp and sometimes i wish i had picked one of those up.

The EVO7 is much faster than the WRX Sti in a straight line. I think it's because of the additional torque and the gear ratios. I saw in a magazine it runs the 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. Even Car and Driver of Japan stated that power the Evo's 4G63 engine is immense, that cannot be replicated by the WRX's 2.0t boxer4. The WRX is however somewhat better in handling due to its lower center of gravity by having a boxer engine that is mounted lower in the car, and the shorter wheelbase. The Lancer on the other hand has a long wheelbase, providing greater stability at high speeds but relies on too much electronic equipment like active yaw control to achieve better handling performance.

So are they skipping the VII all together? Our local shop had the Evo out in front for a few weeks...

What happened....

If you want to see more pics.
