Talking WRX redesign!

I just sold my 2002 WRX (which i hated to do, the WRX was my favorite car!) and bought my MP5 in order to have spare cash...but look what i found -

Subaru WRX STi

Subaru WRX

These are official. They are even changing the Rally car -

Prototype Subaru WRC Car

Check this site out for more pictures - Redesign Pics and this thread for more info - Redesign Thread on i-club

The new redesign will be here for the US 2004 model line introduction. I don't know if the STi will be comming too or if only the redesigned WRX will be here.

I love the new improved look. I can't wait to start saving again and get the new improved STi whenever it comes to the US.

Later,
~ Joe

P.S. If you don't believe me check out Subaru's website designed for the Paris autoshow this year - http://www.subaru-global.com/topics/...s2002/top.html

Die EVO VIII, die!!!

...

don't know if i would call that a redesign. it just looks like a mid-model update. same lines just new lights, front fascia, and some new hood lines. maybe the back is a little different too (i didn't follow your links...too lazy). most cars get a refresher every couple of years and then a big redesign every 4-7 years. still looks good, althogh i kinda like the big bug eye lights and fogs they got now.

Subaru is calling it a redesign...but I guess I agree with you.

It is a pretty drastic change though...it only had the "bug-eyed" look for 2 model years. The whole hood, hood scoup, front bumper, front lights, fog lights, fog light covers, and rear lights have been changed. Not to mention a bright red color will be added and the rims will change from silver to a gunmetal color on the base WRXs .

That is much better looking than the current model. The current headlights make it look like a Neon or something. Very nice IMO

very nice indeed, but I would call it more of a facelift than a redesign

And from what i have heard (don't remember from where) but the STi IS coming to the US to combat the Evo lancer that mitsu is bringing over, which only makes sense.

I looked at these picture many times now, but I would not judge the looks until I see the car in person. Though one think that I like about the new look, is the GIANT hood scoop. Over all, I think it is more appealing then the previous model. The reason they redesigned it was because the Lancer EVO VIII is on sale now.

You can find more about it if you have the latest Road&Track issue, or go to their website - www.roadandtrack.com

Thumbs up

OMG.....I've always liked the WRX and now I like it even more , if I had the money I wouldn't even check out other cars in the same price range, I would head directly to the nearest Subaru dealer: "Ill take the blue one on the right please and a set of golden OZ rims....to go "

Sure they changed the front end, but to me it is still an ugly car. I like the performance and wish we had that in our Proteges.

I liked the old WRX just fine (even the headlights ), but this looks pretty sweet, hehe. If they changed it structurally maybe it could be called a redesign... at least that's how I think of it. They did change all of the imprezas... maybe that means the forester will get a redesign... IMO it needs it, but I doubt it will actually.
