i asked the same question a while ago.
i chose the Xbox because of the hardware. but i'm jealous of the number of games PS2 has for it.
but i don't regret my decision - i'm hoping bill gates, his billions of dollars and his thugs will come through and get more good games out ...

Playstation 2 is the best no if's, and's or buts !
Playstation 2 is dominating in the console wars !
Great line of games and japanese support !
They have EA Sports and Sega supporting games.
Madden 2003 is online playable !!!!!
Games like Grandthief Auto 3 and Vice City which is coming out soon will be hot.
For you RPG Fans out there, final fantansy 11 online is coming out soon
And XenoSaga
There is a lot going for the playstation 2 even thou it still has that memory problem but everyone has seemly got around that...
I wasted my money on a game cube. There first party games suck, Mario is dead ! They are ruining Zelda ! They Fuc*ed it up !
Gamecube is going to suck except Phantasy Star Online. which might suck if they dont stop people from CHEATING.
Xbox is decent but the games look to PC like, There multiplayer games are going to be hot, but a lot of them have the boring pc element to them. And they are trying to produce to many Diablo look a likes Which www.videogames.com rates at bad !
The only game i am looking out for the Xbox is Shenmue 2

I've had a few systems:
Atari 2600
NES
Genisis
Saturn
PS
I still have and use once and a while the Atari and the NES up at the lake. Crappy graphics, but it holds alot of entertainment still.
The PS2 I think is the best of the bunch right now, because it has all the new games that you can play on it as well as the classics from the original PS. That gives this machine probably the most games availible on the market, and with that it is the most likely sytem to be played by people 8-80.

I preordered Vice City from Ebay games a few months ago. I can't wait till it comes.
Has anybody ever played World Driver Championship for N64. Its an old game but it was a sweet racer. The graphics almost looked as good as GT3 but for some reason nobody knew about the game.
