Not a single problem with any of them except the 86 200SX my dad had but it was declared a lemon under the lemon law. My sister curretnly owns a 2002 Spec V SE-R with 65,000 miles.. yup that's 65,000! She has not had one single problem with it! Nothing out of warranty at all even though it is out of warranty now. She has driven to and from New York a few times and that's why it has so many miles. My 99 protege currently has a CD plater that won't play CD's... has eaten two catalytic converters, too many spark plugs to count.. i have some weird rattles in the interior.. been through 1 spoiler do to paint peeling which is happening AGAIN after only 3 months with the new one. Not only that! Talking about HP numbers on the little proteges.. well chew on this.. My dyno test i ran with the cat back system on my car and an AEM intake was a whopping 107HP @ 5500 RPM.. at 5500 RPM my foot is well off the accelerater. Also, its sad that my sister's car that was about a grand more then my car can out handle AND out accelerate me! I feel like a loser when I say that. So if you wanna be biased and talk about a vehicle most protege owners haven't lived with or even driven the SE-R then well go ahead and keep on bashing it. I have respect for the SE-R and that's all that needs to be said. I wish I could have one and maybe i will buy one once i get my insurance money or maybe even an SRT-4 Neon. But never again will I buy another Protege unless they learn to use some quality parts!
