Hey, I read all the replies (that's kind of sad in itself!) and no one has admitted yet to being an accountant. Yep, I'm a bean counter! Right now I'm working on a project team to install SAP for our company. How's that for fun??

YES!!!!

I agree! SAP is the devil!!.... They sold us on it saying that it would make our life easier, reduce workload, etc. etc.

It was all a load of crap! I don´t think anyone here has worked more than we do now, trying to make every single little f*cking detail in SAP match the books, and clear all the stupid error messages, etc. We´ve had it for about 8 months now.

It´s just a system designed with the financial department in mind, so they can have more control over where the money goes, and how it´s used. You can´t do ANYTHING unless it´s in the system.

If you are a business owner or a CFO I guess it´s good... but for the average employee, it´s a damn nightmare!!! It makes you very inflexible to respond to customer needs.

I hate it.

(/end rant).

YOU are working on installing SAP?

Get ready... By the time SAP is running and every employee is forced to use the system, they will all hate you.

By the way... I have read every single reply as well. After all, I started the thread. It was actually pretty interesting to read about all the stuff people do for a living.

So far, we have had no pimps, drugdealers, strippers, or assasins on the board.

our client uses it. our requisitions are fed into their system and lost forever.

a 10 page requisition becomes 50 pages. and that's just the input that we have to prepare. let alone all the work they have to do.

we can turn a major requisition in 12 weeks.
with SAP, it takes at least 19 or 20.

it's like chewing sand.

Could be worse. My company just took away a lot of people's phones and gave them headsets and software. Only the important people got to have actual phones. Even better is that we programmed the software ourselves instead of buying the vendors product (which is superior). Man are they pissed at us.

Actually, LOS-323, you're right. It is pretty interesting to read just what everyone does for a living. Also, the comments on SAP were even more interesting!! I know what you mean about the system, though. So far the project has been hell, and we're just getting started.
