the purpose of that thing is to annoy owners to the point of taking its picture and posting it on a forum to ask what purpose it serves. just look up the model number, its in the description: 0000-ID-10T

apperently these cars like to have random spaces in which something looks like it should be there...but dont..

That's the switch for the optional Time Travel System. You set the cruise control for 88mph and turn on the Flux Capacitor...

We used the dummy switch for the dimmer to my light-em-up pedals or something. I never remember that it is even there.
