P5ChemDood is on a distinguished road
West Virginia 219

Anyone here from West Virginia or have driven the 219? I went down there to visit my GF in med school this past weekend, and that route is ah-maaazing. At least, being used to the blah bland roads in PA. I took 220 S to 50 W (50 is also an awesome road but I was on that for only 30 miles) to 219 S. I loved the banked 15 mph curves coming off of 55 mph speed limits that double back and go up or down 9% grades, expansive views over the mountains and windmill fields. I don't think I've ever gripped my steering wheel so tightly or just plain laughed out loud at how much fun I was having. It really made the 7 hours pass by quickly. The only bone I had to pick was that I had absolutely NO cell phone signal (not like I needed to talk to anyone but just in case of emergency) and when you get behind trucks on those grades, it's really the pits. But a lot of truck drivers were pretty courteous and would actually pull over to the right to let the row of cars pass. Too bad I won't be making my way down there too often. I think after that experience, I've decided to keep my P5 a while longer and not trade it in just yet
