Weird Career Paths.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I finally got a job in one of my dream fields about 6 months ago. But I've held an assortment of jobs in the past, and i was just wondering how littered everyone else's path was.
My Jobs (in order):
Bussed tables
Worked in a collision shop (owner was a dick, but he was good)
sold catalog overstock items
Sold office supplies (first for OfficeMax, then for Staples)
Tested and turned up T1 lines (then moved to trouble dept)
Now I Design and develop web sites.

yeah that's pretty weird.
my career path was:
-it management (at my middle school and high school.. while I was at school there o_O)
-it manager (at local public library.. so just 65 computers, mostly for public use) while in high school
-full time student
- IT help desk manager at software company
- IT sysadmin at that same software company
my career track has been QUITE single-tracked, but I'm only 21 so I guess it's all good

Starting bussing tables when I was 15
Promoted to bussing manager at 16
Promoted to Line cook few months later - bussed tables 3 days and cooked 3 days out of the week
Line cook at another restaurant - worked there for about 2 years and then the owner decided he wanted to become a politician and closed the restaurant. gave no warning at all. just called a mandatory meeting after sunday brunch and told everybody the restaurant was closed. of course i showed up there the next evening for work going "what the hell?" because i didn't show up for the meeting.
Currently I'm working for a local real estate company as a CAD Operator designing houses for several local builders. I do anywhere from 200-300 houses a year.
I'm also currently working part time at the first restaurant I worked at. I agreed to come back and run the kitchen on the weekends after they generously offered to nearly double my previous hourly wage.
