Warning about macdaddyslomo

Just wanted to let everyone know that macdaddyslomo/Tampasport20 has been given a Potential scammer title on MSprotege. He sold someone a turbo that he guarenteed would fit an MSP, and when the turbo didn't fit he completely refused to even try to find a resolution for the situation, and flat out refused to give the guy his money back. This is not the first time he's done something like this, it's just the first time it was brought up in the mod forum on the other board so it got attention.

I am very strongly advising everyone here to be extremely cautious if you buy anything from him, and I think the management over here needs to reconsider who they allow to be moderators.

first I've heard of this. Mike is a good guy and since I don't know the story I won't say anything about it.

No'one has ever had a problem with Mike on this board and his mod status here isn't in question.

I knew someone was gonna throw that argument up, but it has nothing to do with the forum. He ripped a guy off, it was posted in the mod forum, and every mod over there agreed that he needed a potential scammer title.

http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showt...hp?t=123631323

There, read the whole story and decide for yourself. A while ago he sold me a CF grill that he completely assured me would fit my car, but when I got it, it wasn't even close and he refused to refund my money.

what exactly is the difference in the center cartridge of the T25 Mie sold and the ones on the MSP?

Are we 100% the buyer even knows what in the hell he's doing with the install? Does he know the housings can be clocked in different orientations?

The only thing I can think of is that the MSP turbo is oil/water cooled and this new one is only oil cooled. Other than that I can't think of any differences between the two.

Now I don't want to choose sides here but I would think the price he paid for the turbo would tell you what you'd be getting. If he paid a premium price for it then he's entitiled to some sort of compensation.

First off...bringing something over to this board that is a totally seperate issue is NOT cool.

Second of all, attacks at my intregrity I will NOT stand for, as that's the REAL aim of this thread....

The moderators over there just got pissed because they tried to throw their weight around and I told them their threats don't hold any weight with me. So now they have him bring it here.

I love how anarchistchiken comes in telling a totally one-sided story trying to make me look bad.

I will say a few things regarding this.

The grill I sold I had bought for my old sport20 grill in hopes it would fit. It did not. It was advertised as a P5/MP3/MSP grill. From pics I saw of the DG grill it looked the same. How the hell am I supposed to think it won't fit a P5 ??? I also never REFUSED to give a refund on that.

Second of all the turbo I sold was an OIL/WATER cooled Garrett T25. As far as I knew it fit. All info I could find says it would. I NEVER got any proof it didn't. He just simply SAID it didn't. How do I know he didnt just have a buddy say " I Could've rebuilt your old turbo for $100" and decided he wanted his money back ??? Or that he MAYBE is just an idiot and had the damn thing on upside down ??? Besides he still could have EASILY swapped out exhaust housings and it would have worked no problem. Guaranteed he won't find another T25 in that good of shape for $200...

Apparently also Paypal sides with me, as he attempted to make a dispute, and they promptly shut it down the same day.....He even tried using MY quotes from paypal's policy against me, still didnt work...

Also I'm supposedly a scammer ?? Are you seriously trying to say I sold this guy something I KNEW didn't fit ??? If so, you are also calling me a liar. As I previously said, EVERY bit of info I found stated it would fit. EVERY item I've ever sold was shipped to the buyer and usually at a rediculously LOW price, and everyone else was EXTREMELY happy with what they got. I STILL had people PM me about buying items after they closed the thread.

I don't even OWN a mazda anymore, so somehow I doubt I'll have any parts for sale anytime soon.

Finally , i have officially pulled my plug on mazda forums..I was going to hang around there just to help out 1.6 guys, but they don't even stick to their OWN rules over there.

I am EXTREMELY PISSED that a thread would get started over here like this. Let's just say if this was something that was all happening locally and in person rather than over the internet, then I'd be knocking on someone's door right now.

p.s. a "Good" Moderator isn't going to go to other forums just to stir sh**...Perhaps Mazda forums needs to reconsider who they have as a moderator

1. macdaddy's been here longer than anyone else in this thread.
2. I can personally vouch that the mods on that site are a bunch of idiots.
3. unless YOU are the guy who got ripped off, why start a thread just to bash someone? The PM button's right there if you need a "response" from him.

Like Matty, I'm not taking sides or anything, I just tend to believe the old-school guys. If he's been around since '02, he probably doesn't plan on going anywhere. So why would he knowingly burn someone?

Bummer. I hope he wasn't driven off. He's a forum asset, especially for the 1st and 2nd gen crew. And there's not too many BP gurus left around here.

When I said mazda Forums, I just mean msprotege.com...that is the "Official" title over there...sorry for any misunderstanding.

I'm still hanging around here. Thanks for the support.

I'm not trying to bash anyone, I'm just providing information. I asked for a response, meaning that I wanted to hear your side of it. I dont know, maybe the guy was a moron, but the fact that you completely and totally flat out refused to try and resolve it after multiple requests from more than one person to figure it out, suggests to me that you're trying to hide somehting. I'm not saying that you are, but in my experience when someone responds to a challenge in the way you did, they do it for a reason.

Again, this thread is not to bash or burn anyone, I just want people to know that they should be cautious when buying stuff from him. I dont think he's a scammer and I voted against the Potential scammer title, but this should be information that is in the public and available to anyone who might buy stuff from him, whether they visit the other board or not.

I dont know if this is reffering to me, but I'll be at the meet in Orlando in July. You can complain about how e-unfair I am to my face then.

This is a personal attack..plain and simple....

There were not multiple attempts to "figure it out". Simply to refund him. That was the only "solution"

I wasn't hiding ANYTHING. I dare you to find me something available that would suggest that turbo wouldnt fit. I was simply sick and tired of the whole turbo'ing my car fiasco and Mazda's in general, I simply didn't want the hassle of continuing with the parts...I'll probably end up giving away the remainder of my parts for free, just to be done with it.

Finally, if you think I'm going to hold on to a grudge for 3 months, and then go to a Mazda Meet, when I no longer own one, just to talk to you in person, you must think I have more free time than I really do

Um if it matters i vote for this thread to be deleted or closed, i dont really know Mr. Slomo but its obvious that the point of the thread is no longer valid since the "victim" has already responded and proven that the statements posted against him are false. Oh and btw personally i would not get to upset at Anarchistchiken, yeah its fudged up that he posted this when does not have 100% of the facts correct but then again you could say that he was trying to be a concerned member of the forum, by looking out for us, and it could his post could have been a lot worse. And Mr. Slomo i congrat you on keeping the laguage at a safe level (i guess). And one last thing if you guys were local you could have just met each other and try to fix the problem.

You guys do whatever you want, I'm telling you its not a personal attack, I'm telling you that I thought this needed to be posted just so that people can be careful when a potentially dishonest person sells them something.

If you want to call it a personal attack to make yourself feel better, then feel free. If you want to delete or modify the thread, go for it, I really dont care. I've already learned my lesson about buying stuff from him.
