It was probably to keep people from commenting on the picture of the nuclear-submarine-sized turd in the toilet

Excessive violations of any articles of the rules will result in warnings from moderators and may also result in account banning up to a indefinite period of time.

Either way... locking it only kept us from replying to the thread, not from viewing the pic.
At least for me: Telling me not to view the picture, was like telling a kid not to open a bag because there is candy inside.
I figured the offender was pic 69 so I removed it. Regardless, an explanation would have made things much easier.
PMing me saying "Hey you asshat we don't want your pic #69 on our forum. Remove it OR ELSE!" would have been easier than just locking the thread, which didn't do much....
