TEST DRIVE: '94 Ford Taurus SE
Test Drive: Ford Taurus SE

I had the great oppertunity tonight to drive the well known performance beast known as the Ford Taurus SE. Respectfully this car is a 1994, with about 110 thousand miles to its name. The v6 engine puts out about 158hp (as rated), through a sweet Automatic tranny.
First Impressions, the seats rawk! Oh yeah, nothin like bland red bench seat up front... but the comfort cant be matched by todays standards. Also, the driving position was superb if you like the upright, high suv feeling in your sedans! SWEET.
Also, the controls were not very well thought out, like most american cars... WTF the lights are on the dash in a rotary switch, and the windshield wipers are where the lights are on most japanese cars....
So off started the test drive: Put in the ford key to ignition, stomp break with left foot (so used to driving a manual its habit.... put into drive AND THE FUN BEGINS! So lets see what this baby can do: 0-60: hmm is 60 possible with out the dash falling apart? 1/4 mile: give me a few years you stomp on the gas and the power just runs throughout you with the shaking and vibrations of every plastic panel in the car! SWEET
After the test drive i look over as i had pulled back in to the driveway, and thank god i own two DECENT cars.... sure neither may be bimmers or something great... but try it sometime, test drive a piece of ****.... i prefer tauruses (older brother still drives this pos, even while he owns a 2002 m3)
MORAL: Our cars arent as bad as we really think they are sometimes....

I go by the philosophy that if there's something bad or wrong about something, there's always something good or right about it. But, I'm afraid the Taurus just has NOTHING good or right about it

my dad just bought a
1992 taurus LX i think...the sedan one....not wagon...its the 3.5L (or was it 3.0) V6.
he got it for $400 canadian...for a winter beater...not bad if you ask me....I rode in it once...had a nice soft suspension...
but i'll stick to my pro....and keeping the revs in the 6000+ range LOL
I don't think my dads ever taken the taurus that high

thats exactly his reasoning... he wants to keep the m3 with low miles.. right now he just finished the break in period and hes owned it for like 6 months
but once the taurus finally dies he'll drive it full time
Stupid Rich bastard (hes 21)

he makes me sick when he tells me he just went and bought a bimmer to sit in his garage.... bastard bastard bastard
and hes only had the job like 6 months.

"If your going to get a taurus from that gen, make it a SHO. They are pretty fast and look nice."
Spendy as heck to repair and don't even think about about the 2nd gen though smooth driving and quite fast, they are rather rare and very expensive to fix, adn thier cranks have a nasty habit of shattering/breaking.
But really nice and fast, will beat a lot of other cars out there in a straight line still today.

Yup I got a video of a taurus Sho beating a Probe GT w/ a jspec engine...
haha my friend just couldn't beleive it...cuz he loves probes too much.....The only car that he will except that will beat his is the RX-7....just cuz I've told him of the power...and shown him clips of what the rx-7s can do
oh yeah he also knows an M3 will rip his ***....cuz we met one....
M3 went to full throttle....and we went to full throttle....and we just saw the M3 go bye bye into the horizon in front of us
