Metallica started sucking back with the Black Album.

I'll borrow this one from a friend.

I agree its not like their old stuff with the awesome guitar solos but they have changed their music style but I for one welcome the new style cause if they didnt change a little with every album they would be like alot of other tiring bands out there. Metallica cds usually take a while to grow on you so give it time.

Here's what I know about Metallica... I used to like them 'back in the day', Black album, and justice for all, that good stuff. Load and Reload were steaming loads (IMO), and I have the newest cd, and I can't say I like it any better. Maybe my musical taste has changed over the years, and I don't like their sound anymore... Dunno...

Glad to see some diehards out there though.

Listening to it at work right now. I bought it for the DVD of the making of the album more than anything. After the first couple of songs it just seems like they have lost the touch for the old time fast metal. They are just getting too old I guess

well I'm not diehard I use to be real diehard and yes the changes they went though load reload weren't the best but they both had some good songs not as many as ride the lightning or master. But hell no one can put out the same thing all the time they die even faster that way.

OK, now I listened to all of it, and it is not bad. I am sure I will grow to like it. Still not as the old ****, but I guess this IS new Metallica. This album is mostly bass and drums, and I hardly heard of Kirk and his sweet guitar skills. Anyhow, I will watch the DVD and maybe feel different about it. BTW, does any one know what ever happened to "Four Leaf Clover" and "Minus Human"? I thought those songs would be on the new album.

Man, this thing sounds like it was recorded in my basement. I don't mean to be a dick because I am a big fan, but I am not impressed at all. Oh well, maybe the DVD will be better.

i've never heard such a bad sounding cd, i agree with the earlier post about the recording in the basement, it sound like you're listening to it on am, plus that snare, wow does it sound bad, actually it kind of sounds like an mp3 at a really low bitrate, maybe that's why the cd is so cheap, they spent half as much on recording it, unfortunately i think alot of the music gets washed out by the (noise), the music is better than the last album but the sound almost makes it 3 strikes in a row in terms of bad albums

I thought they changed their name to MTVMakesUsMoney,Inc. back in '90.

Then around 1999 switched to MoneyHungryBastards,Inc.

Are they really using Metallica again?

THIS BAND HATES THEIR FANS. hence, no decent music since the black album. I never once heard a fan say, gee, wouldnt it be great if they were to add more of an alterna-pop sound to their music? nope, never heard that request once. Nor did i hear anyone really want them to start playing more radio-acceptable music. plus, remember to insult and degrade your fanbase for not shelling out more money to these egotistical billionaires so that they can give more lawyers money, so they can sue us all.
**** LARS, **** METALLICA.
I SMASHED MY COPIES OF THE FIRST 3 ALBUMS, then grabbed the mp3's offa napster (cuz they did rock once upon a time) other than that, i havent heard a single thing that these corporate pop-rock **** have spit out that hasnt sucked alot of stanky ***.
SCREW THESE LOSERS. THERE IS BETTER MUSIC MADE WHEN I TAKE A DUMP ON THE SHATTERED REMAINS OF THEIR WORTHLESS DISCS.
i'd rather listen to britney spears. You couldn't PAY me to listen to this **** twice.

I'll tell you what you'll be hearing if you waste your money on this crap.

- No cool 'Metallica' styled intros like in Fade to Black or Sanitarium or Seek and Destroy ETC...

- No solos whatsoever. Nothing. No cool guitarwork, my 10 year old sister could play these power chords.

- Rnadomg chaotic cut in yelling (LINKIN PARK style, but it not as GOOD as linkin park/limp bizkit/sum41 etc... ).

- Horrible drumwork (with Lars using the new "in-pop" annoying *** snare drum

- The greatness of an album that seems rushed

- A lack of any sort of bass line at all. God knows why they even needed a new bassist if they were just gonna put out this crap.

- Hetfield's voice cracking and sounding faded.

- Cheesy attempts to be more pop-friendly

Perhaps if you "LIEK TEH GHEY PR0N" you will thouroughly enjoy this album. For all others, do not buy it so that they can lose the money they DONT deserve. **** METALLICA.

That is all, have a nice day .

This is all my personal opinion and is not meant to be slander/libel in any way. in that case... I was just kidding for the whole thing, metallica rocks man !!!

Yeah, I just finished watching DVD, which by the way is slightly better with sound quality, but agree with you guys, the CD sounds like ****. All I heard was Lars banging on an emptyplastic barrel, and heavy bass, thats it. This NEW Metallica sounds more like CoRN and Limp Bizkit. This NEW **** is heavy nonetheless, and they will pick up some new younger fans here, but also lose many of the hardcore fans as well. If they want to win me back, bring back Ride the Lightning, Master of the mother**cking Puppets, and Justice for All.
