The Sopranos?

I'm surprised I haven't seen Tony and the crew mentioned here before - maybe it was, and I missed it.

Anyway - anyone else addicted to this ****? I don't have HBO , but I have the first 3 seasons on DVD - just went and spent $90 on the third season yesterday. I FREAKING LOVE THIS SHOW!

Luckily, I don't work in an office, or I know I would have to hear about every episode before I got to see it, not having HBO and all. But I get to wait it out, buy the DVDs, and spend entire weekends doing nothing but vegging out watching Paulie Walnuts kick ***. It rocks!

I blame my parents - they got me the first two seasons on DVD as a gift last year - and I can't stop.

So - who do you think is gonna get whacked this season? I'm only about 4 episodes into the third season, so don't give away anything about last year, okay?

I think I start to talk with an Italian accent after a weekend of Sopranos.......

My favorite line so far - "she's so fat, when she hauls *** she's gotta make two trips" (Tony talking about....dammit, can't remember the name of the guy , but talking about his wife) - I laughed for 15 minutes at that one.

Yes...I love it too.....and am in the same boat as you....no HBO....after the first year it was on the first year was syndicated and I got to see it on regular TV.....it rocks....I was hoping that they would continue to do that as the seasons went on....but they didn't....so I have missed the second and thrid years too....

I am also a sci-fi nut.....I LOVE Stargate.....I was so happy this year when they dumped showtime and it came out on the Sci-Fi channel..which I DO get!

My wife and I love the Sopranos also. I got HBO specifically for the Sopranos! Can't wait for tomorrow night! Our daughters middle name is Meadow! ok...maybe we are into it too much.

The syndicated version sucked compared to the HBO version. I have not got Season 3 on DVD. But I did watch it on HBO. Plan on getting it soon anyway.

On a side note
Hihoslva, WTF are you spending $90 on a DVD for. You can get it much cheaper than that. By using DVDPriceSearch.com I see that it is going for less than $65 shipped. I love that site and their is DVDtalk.com and their forums for finding great deals on DVDs. I had to stop buying at 225 as I have no more room for them and I have about 75% that are still unwatched.

WTF am I buying it retail for? Well, first off - I didn't know about that site! Good info for sure - thanks a lot!

Second - I wanted it NOW! Last night I was all bored watching TV with the woman, and it's like "oh ****! The third season is out on DVD!" so off we go to Tower Records. Whatever - it's already open now, so it's not like I can return the frigging thing.

I don't buy many DVDs - I rent mostly. But I joined Columbia House DVD club, so I got like 5 free, and have to buy 2 or something. I think it all works out basically the same in the end, (boosted price + boosted shipping of 2 bought + 5 free, versus just buying 7 at a store) but I get 'em all delivered which is cool. Whatever.

But thanks for that link - I'm sure I'll use it sometime.

Columbia House.

If you want info on columbia house (that is where I got many of my DVDs), go to that page I metioned DVDTalk.com and go to the DVD clubs section of the forums. Ther is info on there to get the most out of Columbia House.

Some interesting facts:
1. You may have 2 open accounts at one time.
2. Once you fulfill your membership, you can call, cancel and sign back up again with the same call.

**** like that. It got addicting, kinda like car stereo and modding the car. I spent too much money in too short a period of time for DVDs I do not watch.

i love the SOPRANOS as well! i was gonna buy the 3rd season on DVD, but tomorrow is my birthday, and i think my parents bought it for me! oscar de la hoya beating fernando vargas' @$$ on pay-per-view, the sopranos 3rd season on DVD, the sopranos season premiere, and my birthday = a great weekend! i have HBO, but i usually never watch the sopranos during the regular season....i always buy it on DVD and watch it over and over again. i know if i watch the season on HBO and i miss an episode, i'd be pissed off, so i just (not so) patiently wait for it on DVD.

Episode 1: If you watched episode # 1 of season 4, what did you think?

Like other seasons, this one got off to a slow start as they had to build the story lines out for the season. It usually picks up witht the second episode, but this season looks like it is going to be pretty good.

damn, this thread died pretty fast (in one day!), so i guess i'll bring it back to life. who saw the second episode of the current (4th) season? i was kinda disappointed with it. the season premiere was pretty good, yet they went from the FBI trying to crack down on them, to the controversy over columbus day! i guess it's all part of building the plot up.

yeah, but they tied the FBI thing in a little. Adrianna(?) is hanging out with Carmela and friends trying to get more information. She never used to hang out with them. The whole Columbus Day episode was kind of weird, I expect the next one to be better.

Thumbs up

It's a good show, I love HBO series, Band Of Brothers was awesome.

My favorite HBO series of all time is OZ by far, great show.

Thumbs up 6 Feet Under

While I enjoy the Sopranos as well, 6 Feet Under has got to be the best show on HBO, and all of TV!

The Mind of a/the(?) Married Man is nice, as well.
