S2000 Vrs Rx8

WE HAVE ALL SEEN THE HONDA S2000 240 HP FROM A NAT ASP 2.0 4 BANGER 9000 RPM REAR WHEEL DRIVE NOT BAD. NOW FOR THE MAZDZA RX8 250 HP NAT ASP 1.3 ROTARY 9000 RPM REAR WHEEL DRIVE. I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF YOU BUT I CANT WAIT TO SEE THESE TWO CARS GO HEAD UP ON THE 1/4 MILE. THESE 2 CARS ARE VERY SIMILIAR BUT VERY DIFFERENT ROTARY VRS PISTON. RX8 HAS NOT COME OUT YET BUT I KNOW ITS GOING TO HURT ALOT OF HONDA FEELINGS. NOTHING AGAINST THE BIG H BUT I HOPE THE RX8 IS ABLE TO SPANK THE S2000. I WISH I COULD PUT A 13B TT IN MY PRO 5 THAT **** WOULD BE DOPE. HAVE TO KEEP DREAMING FOR NOW

first up.. ease with the CAPS.

Second, Yeah that would be wicked to see who holds up.

I heard that the RX-8 that they release in Japan only, will be close to 380hp, only the North American will be toned down to 280 (still good enuf!)

Heck, my Miata will spank any S2000 out there and I still haven't spent half as much as a new S2000 to get to this point.
hehehe, you were just waiting for a moment to throw your Miata in here hehehe

How about that MP series Miata???

As for the RX-8, I thought that the redline starts somewhere around the 11,000 rpms which is like some of the sports bikes, crazyyy

you guys might crucify me for this but...i admit i actually like the looks of the s2000....compared to the rx8.. although its going to be hella interesting to see these two cars head to head

although i think the miata is more in its class like 90&00 said. They are bringing out miatas in sp spec here in oz with factory turbos...and they are also thinking about dumping a six in em as well...i guess this is in response to the s2000

when people are talking about the rx8..they are usually comparing them to the wrx or skyline etc.

attempt at posting a pic

Yup, I can't tell, but even if the redline starts at 10,000 rpms that's sweeet

Damn, only 250 MPS Roadsters? People will go crazy for them... Saw pics of a Miata meet in Japan, around 1000 cars showed up as far as I remember, and then all lined up on some japanese circuit, forgot which one, pretty cool though. So as I said, if they only make 250 of them they'll be gone the first day if they aren't already hehe

A V6 Miata? Was this ever in plans before?

The rotary however does kill the S2000 at its own game of high rpm power. The S2000 is very close to the limit in terms of reliable valvetrain action. The Rotary, since there is no valvetrain, can simply be reved higher, with the associated power as long as your getting enough air and atomizing the fuel properly. Balanced versions of the engine should goto the 14K area, i would imagine.
I care what the cars will do in the quarter mile and I'm sure there are others that would like to know. You "cone heads" think that the world evolves around road courses and that nothing else matters. I like all kind of motor sports, drag, road courses, nascar, monster trucks, go karts.....
