I love looking at bad rice on the net. This is a funny site:

Rice Cop

It gives tickets to all the offenders and has a fun setup. I love the one where someone but a hoodscoop on a car with a rear engine.

The things I would define as rice are...
1)Supra wings on any thing but a supra
2)Mismatched paint job
3)Too many stickers...meaning a few are ok, but there is a point
when enough is enough.
4)Wrongful badging
5)Over sized or multi-stage wings(mostly of the alluminum
variety) and that is about it.
Alot of what some people call "Rice", I call the "Import Movement".
I mean clear tail lights were one of the first things that everyone put on there cars. Now some call them rice, which they kinda are ONLY because of the new and improved "Street Legal" Altezza's.
As for the Body Kits, I think they are ok, as long as they are painted to match the car and not pianted with a can of spray paint you get at Wally World. Also if they are installed correctly, (no gaps).
As long as a car looks ''Clean and not over done, that is what I look for.
As everyone knows, Everyone has their own thoughts of Whats Rice and Whats not.

This is my "Opinion" on the matter.

haha actually you know what, I had a Mazdaspeed windshield thing going on after the first week, but I learned my lesson through week 4. I mean come on, I just watched Fast & Furious and got my car...... I was UI, and not totally sane back then, please don't convict me hehehe

& to all of you that don't like chrome wheels, or big wheels in general, there's a mean one.....

Hahaha, yesterday I saw a Honda with a Type-R sticker, and it was probably like a DX, hehe and of course two antennas.....

lol man there are a coupla cars in my area that you guys would love, im going to try to get pictures of them and see if i can post them. Lemme give you a run down, to me rice is a combination of what everyone has said so far, but that is of course IMO. Changing the badgining is one of the funniest things i have seen. There is a car around here, some 1980 something or other, but it is a Plymouth, it has a huge window banner that reads "Chevy Tough". Anyway if you want to know of another site similar to ricecops.com, its beaterz.com this is a funny site check it out, along with the emails that he/ she has receivied from car owners

If your car looks like anthing in here it is rice!

www.riceboypage.com www.beaterz.com

I think ricers are funny. They give me a good laugh, like the guy with his teal Geo Metro with a 4" exhaust tip that expells the massive amount of flaming hot exhasut from his 1.0 3 cyl engine. , or the dudes who put "Type-R" badges on their 70 HP Civic LX's, even though a true type-r has never been sold here, is a hatchback, and produces 200 horsepower.

One of the reasons I bought the Pro is because it has some performance potential, yet if I left the body alone, no one would have a clue that it would be a fast car and poor unsuspecting rice-boys would laugh at me until blew the stickers and yellow tape off their retarded looking cars. I'm already doing it too, and the car is near stock! That is why I love rice boys, their like the kid everyone thinks could kick their ***, but in reality he's just a big *****.

I love how all ricers, the world over, make the same excuses and such. Everytime you beat them there is some lame excuse. The ricers around here will lose to you, then immediately go telling everyone how they smoked you. Afterall, it doesn't matter how slow your rocket is, as long as everyone else thinks it's fast.

God forbid you beat them with a domestic, then you will never hear the end. "My car gets more hp per litre", "ya, well your car handles like ****", "American cars suck!!", "u r gay!" All very valid arguments for losing a race

Also, every ricers has a turbo or NOS as a FUTURE mod but never actually gets one. They would rather blow their money on lots of stickers, spoilers, extra fog lights and huge muffler tips. I personally find that quite funny. I can tell from the people here that as soon as a turbo comes out for a protege, many members will actually buy one, not just talk about it.

Ahhh, I could rant forever about this.

I would say if you have the goods to back up what is on the stickers, or if you are sponsored by them it would be cool...

but then of course, what do I know....

Our cars come from asia, and they eat rice there, so people call import cars rice burners, and I guess rice jsut evolved because most ricde cars are imports, especially honda's. I'm not sre if that is exactly why, but thats what I understand
Is this a racist slur? or just a funny joke, like calling a white person a cracker? (im white )

Rice isn't bad... to a point. There is a thin line where doing useless stuff to your car makes it look gaudy or tacky. Please people, use your common sense. Don't overdo it. I think my main rice on my car is a vinyl decal with holes in it for the taillights, back-up lamps, and my turn signals on the back of my car. The main reason I did that was because I can't find clears or Altezza-style tails for a 1st gen and it actually looks halfway decent.

looks like i'm a little late jumping on the band wagon...
but i feel like putting my two cents in from the cheap seats.

after reading the "definition" of "rice", i'm happy to say i get a big fat gold cheesy-*** "rice" star in the "ricing-out" category.

i do have a solid colour vinyl strip across my front AND back windshield. i'm liking the look. its something to do for last year, and i'll probably yank them off after the snow to try something else. my reasoning is i wanted something of a complimentary colour on my car, but i wasn't willing to advertise some performance parts i don't have and/or my stereo preferences.
so solid it was.

i also have changed my interior and exterior bulbs to all super whites...didn't see anything about that so i'm thinking it was an over sight. peck away.

i also put some 'mazadspeed' shoulder pads on for pure looks, even though i'm not sporting anything by them...

so can i be categorized in the "rice" column?
maybe.
do i much care?
not realy.

its all on personal prefernce, as said before, and if i'm happy then let the crusifiction begin.

p.s - when i get my lo-pro's and damn shiny chrome rims on...will i get another "rice" star?
