Rice..........

Rice..........
Forgive my ignorance as I am not Asian, or oriental if you may prefer, but as is my understanding, rice is the main course for chinese food and Fish would be th main course for Japanese people. Therefore, should japanese cars, which seem to be the #1 choice for us "ricers" not be called "fishers"? Or "fish heads" perhaps?? And what about "riced" Cavaliers, sunfires and foci, what would their designation be?? I consider their being called "rice mobiles" to be offensive to me, being the socalled ricer that I am. What would be a good designation for them? Corn perhaps?? Potatoes?? Steakers??
I don't know. And what about "riced" german cars, VW for example, should they be called "Sausages"? "Wursts" perhaps??
Someone please straighten me out on this. My ignorance as a ricer (for driving a japanese car) is overwhelming.

I would like to make a formal definition of my take on rice to be referred to here and after.
First of all, rice was defined to be any japanese-make auto. This is obvisously since many Japanese do, in fact, eat rice. HOWEVER, over the years, rice has taken on a completely new definition. A similar example will be the word "Magik." Magic has taken over the definition of magik over the years as well. In fact, most people dont even know 'magik' is a word!! Rice has taken on the meaning of "ricing out yuor car." NOT JUST a japanese car. Nowadays you DONT call some 46 yr old woman driving a completely stock Honda Cicic a ricer
RICE is the pure tacky, cheap, ineffective, CRAP that people put on their poor, poor cars. I dont care WHAT make the car is, BMW, KIA, Mazda, Ford, Volvo... ANYTHING is subject to being riced out.
Yes cletus, the "rear disc-look" hub caps on your cavalier's back wheels are RICE. and that car is a RICER.
Some common things that make ANY car rice **:
-Altezza "Euro" tailigths (based of a Japanese car, Lexus, why are they called 'euro' in the first place!!??! )
-Fart Can Muffler
-LED exhaust tips
-Bling bling rims
-Oversized Tach on your AUTOMATIC
-Spoiler that's over your roof*
-double spoiler*
-Tripple spoiler*
-Tacky "add-on-looking" body kit***
-Unpainted Body kit(s)
-Blue "HID-look" headlights
-Black out headlights on trucks
-"Powered By" anything stickers ANYWHERE on your car
-JApanese/Chinese Charcters written on your car
-Windshield Decals
-Badges making your car SEEM like a higher trim level (ei. TYPE=R).
-Big rear wheels on a FWD car.
-Any car NOT desiged for track racing from the factory that is modified to all hell, where the cost of modding would easily be able to have landed the owner a sports car in the first place.
-Black/carbon ffiber hood w/hood pins on a car that can barey acheive 120 on it's best day
*NOTE - If your car is capable of going over 140 with relaive ease, the spoilers *may* be neccessary.
**NOTE - If your car is a REAL race car that you race on a track. Some "rice" items need not apply to you.
***SOMETIEMS, and RARELY, a body kit ACTUALLY looks good (like it belongs) on a car.... but this is RARE.
Hell, anything that the ******* lemmings do to follow the crowd can be rice. I know some PEOPLE that can be called RICE.
Now, on the right cars, things CANNOT be considered RICE. IE. an FD can run 13.9secs 1/4 mile and do 155 top speed STOCK. If it has a FULL exhaust system behind a 3" muffler, is lower 1", and has soem wide racing rims on it. that is NOT RICE. WHY? Becuase it is making it PERFORM better in both handling and acceleration.
BUT, if a CiBIc had those same mods, it WOULD be rice since the best it could do is MAYBE keep up with an N/A RX-7 in the straightways.
Anotehr hint : If you're planning to make a racecar out of a vehicle who's selling point is gas mielage or seating capacity, well, you're ricing it out.
OBVIOUSLY i am forgetting soem things here and WILL Get flamed for it, BUT it should be intuitively obvious to the most casual observer what I MEAN.

this is the correct terminology (may differ but its what ive collected from more than 8 car forums)
Rice - Japanese make of car that has been basterized
Potato - American Make of car that has been basterized
****'d - German make of car that has been basterized
driving a japanese car does NOT mean you are a ricer, its only if you to a ghetto *** job in modifying it. same goes for the other 2.
