You will be paying more insurance due to the poor quality of the vehicle in crash test. Also only one or 2 models actually fair well...the rest pretty much suck...
If you want a new back up vehicle, just get a toyota corolla. Those cars last for 10+ years.

I would buy a car that fits with in my budget ..... Im getting a 6 or a new protege in january ....
But, if i wasnt in the market for Mazda's .... I would try looking at a Mits. Lancer or a new Nissan Altima ?
