They are using imports now in Fairfax, VA.
In B-More, they have Cobras and Z28s also.

I have a Cobra in my '92 and so far I love it. I got it for $70 at Bestbuy with a $10 mail-in rebate and they are undetectable by cops.

Amen to that! I almost got flamed for that incident. Good thing the cop was in a good mood or not in the mood to pull me over. I think I lucked out do to rush hour traffic. He was looking for more serious speeders. And no it wasn't a maniquin <spell?> in the car neither!

Did I forget to mention that MY RADAR detector can pick up any gas station and Walmart in the U.S.?! Damn false alarms!! This is one from the top of the line (at the time) without having to install one in your dash model. The company BEL had good ratings from Car Audio magazine (2nd to Valentine which smoked the competition), but significantly less expensive. The article went on to say that the technology used in BELtronics was used in the Gulf War (1st one) with it's radar seeking ability. WTF?! A little exaggerated there or at least overrated!

I have an old Radio Shack X/K/Ka/Laser detector with text display.

It goes wild when near a C Band dish, but it gives less false alarms than a BEL I used to have...

Besides for $10 on Ebay I guess I could not ask for more...

if you think you don't need to watch for cops when you have a radar detector, you are in for a surprise...

I got a radio shack top of the line model, voice and compass.
its much more sensitive than my friends cobra so thats good.

i never have any false alarms. i mean when x-band goes off you know thats nothing since cops don't use that anymore.
