Protegeclub Logo Contest!
#20
Hi Jason
Love the logo but do we want to bring the border in on the left so that it cuts off more of the rear end. That way it it will not alienate the regular Protege crowd. I think we have to try and satisfy the whole group here? Not sure how that would work out with the 1st gens etc. Of course the site is called protegeclub.com. Just my thoughts.
By the way, whatever logo we come up with, can I use that on the cards that I am making up for spreading the word?

Not sure if you guys have picked a winner yet...
thought I'd take a crack at it anyway.
Even if the contest is over I wouldn't mind hearing any
thoughts about my entry.
For those who care:
Lightwave 7 [GI]
Photoshop
thought I'd take a crack at it anyway.

Hey Smedly, that is really cool.. Wow, more options for invite cards.
Since you are in Edmonton, don't forget ot check the Western Canada section for our next meet. We need more rides at the next one.

skyhawk174 I'm looking forward to seeing all the different cars and their mods. I'm going to get tinted on Saturday...still not sure what percent I should get though?!?!

I find that the 35 is definitly an improvement over having no tint at all, but IMO is still a little too light and I think next time I'm gonna go 23 on the sides and 17 on the rear.
I think any darker than that and it'll be too dark to see at night. And considering that here in edmonton we're usually in darkness more than daylight thanks to our wonderfull 8 months of winter, nighttime vision is a priority to me!

I agree that logo is very sweet. How did you go about doing the whole 3-d thing?
As far as tint percent goes.. I have 35% all the way around. I wouldn't do it differently the only thing is i am illegal on every window (except for the windshield). I wish Maine wasn't so strict on the tint laws.

Well, I do "the whole 3-d thing" for a living. I had some free time last night so I took a crack at the logo. Took a couple of hours and I modeled it in Lightwave 7 on my mac. Played around with colors and added a photo of my car in Photoshop.
If you have any questions feel free to email me and you can check out my website for some other 3D stuff I've done.

Back on the topic, what are the tint laws in your area?

In Edmonton I think you are not allowed any tint on the front windows (people do it anyway) but you can put whatever you want on the back.
