no

and octane only give you more power if you have a high compression engine designed for high octane stuff.

Octane boost in your 1.6L engine will only boost the amount of crap build up in your engine because the gas will not burn properly. Stick with 87 octane until you get up to about 10:1 compression ratio engines.

Yes, the DO work. But When they say they raise octane by say 8 points they mean it turns 89 octane into 89.8 octane.

What the heck do you need octane booster for? You are suppose to run 87 in your car. If you get knock then run 89. Hell I run mid 13's in the quarter in my Mustang and run only 89. The compression rating for the Protege and my Mustang are about the same 9.2 to 1. The higher the Octance rating the harder it is to burn. You don't need it. Now if you had a Turbo or you were messing with your timing like alot of the Mustang guys do then by all means if you are getting detonation then use it, or just by 93 octane pump gas.

My 1.6 with octane booster might beat your mustang!

I'll just put 3 cans in a half tank of gas. :-)
