My uncle, who owns a Buick GS Stage one with a 455 big block (12 sec 1/4, all engine), says " Bottles are for babies!" but I am neutral on the subject.

spoken like someone that gets their *** handed to them on the track by someone using nitrous. I've been there first hand and watched people cry about losing and then complaining about cheaters. Sissy. STFU.

they may be calling them cheaters, but i think its more like they felt deep down cheated out of their hard work. they see the nitrous user as some baggy pants, gold chain, rap listening ricer with neons, 20" chrome rims, and more square inches of speakers than actual lbs-ft of torque, whose car wouldnt have beat them if it werent for the bottle. thats an over-the-top generalization, but you get the picture. if all parties are ok with nitrous then i dont see it as cheating. i'm more of a muscle car person myself so losing with a 455 under the hood would probably give me more excitement than winning with a nitrous bottle in the trunk.

yeah, my answer to people saying "you wouldn't have won without the bottle" is ... "ok, go spend $400 and beat me next time".

Actually just spoken like a lot of other muscle car enthusiasts. Very rarely does he get his *** handed to him on the track and If i remember correctly, never by anyone running Nitrous.

if my uncle wanted to run nitrous, and he easily could, there would be very few streetable cars that could touch him. He runs 12s and drives his car to the track every time. He even drives it to events that are in other states. He installed a new tranny with overdrive just to make it more streetable. Half the people out there running nitrous can barely get their car to run long enough to get it off the TRAILER they hauled it there with let alone a 1/4 mile pass. so driving a 12 second muscle car on all engine that rides/travels just as well as any new car is a lot more impressive to me. I am not against nitrous at all but I think its rediculous when people slap 100 shot or higher on a car that hasn't had the time and money invested to make it worth while. If u want bragging rights earn them. Hell I could slap a huge shot of nitrous on my car with no other mods and run one hell of a 1/4 mile pass, but chances are I would have to rebuild it later.

I agree about crying after losing. If u know they are running nitrous and agree to run them then how is it cheating?

p.s. I hope that last comment was not made towards me or my uncle for that matter....

n o, it wasn't. I was talking "to" the people at the track that cry to me when the SHO spanks their *** with full interior, an open differential and street tires.

Some guy in a cobra got all up in my face when I WALKED him on a 75shot. Naturally, I HAD to be "cheating". It was great because his "crew" got stood up by mine when they tried talking smack.

Bottles are for babies- Almost every single big racer that comes out to our track runs it. At least the faster guys do.. Granted there are a few muscle car guys out there running 10's all motor, but then there are a few guys making faster passes with Nitrous- like Matty said- anytime someone has ever said to me- "you wouldnt have won without the bottle" I always say- my kit cost me $350- you could beat me with it, they either chose not to, and still to this day run slower than my now all motor car, or they decided to pick up their game...

PS- here is a video of a Nitrous Import Racer at the track- he also raced a few muscle cars that night.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/5...4085535F0F.htm
his fastest pass that night was a 12.7 with no track prep (street legal event)
