Then again.
you also cant beat the perfectly trained dogs that would never bite anyone unless the owner gives notion or in danger.
those are perfect.

not really interested in a debate, however my wife grew up her whole life showing and breeding dogs.......bottom line is this:

the breed originated as a FIGHTING DOG..that is it's whole purpose, and it's a proven fact that "Pit's" have a lower "bite threshold" than most other breeds(meaning higher likelyhood of the dog biting the handler)..I would not trust even the friendliest piut bull with my child, period.

My kid plays with a HUGE pitbull named Cerberus all the time...they absolutely love each other. The only way he'd ever hurt her is maybe drowning her with kissin'. He's definately protective, but not ferocious or viscious at all. Too smart for that.
I believe that the owner of ANY dog is responsible for the way it acts. Treat your dog good, and you'll have a good dog, and vice-versa.

Personally I just need a dog who can alert me to trouble. I can take care of myself as long as I know there's toruble brewin'.

My mom named her Haley.
She weighs about 2.9lbs.
She likes to bury her face into what ever soft is around here before she goes to sleep, I guess b/c the place where we got her from she was around all her bro and sis's when she slept.
These things are expensive..

i love my sisters pitbull mix thingie but holy cow she's way too hyper for me... not to mention she pulls a lot more g-forces than i can. i chase her around the yard and she starts running in circles so tight that if i tried to match them i'd fall over sideways...that or break my ankles... not to mention she runs about three times as fast as i can
she's a bit tougher to handle, but i'd be more afraid of the daschunds (sp?) in the same house cause they bite hard as hell if you mess with their bones/toys.
