My P5, My Stun Gun

Every day since I have had my P5 (2 weeks) I have been shocked when getting out. Last nite it was so strong that I wasn't touching the car but I saw the bolt of electricity shootout from the door to my hand as I was about to close her. Damn thing hurts.

I have never been shocked, but as my friends get out of the car they always complain....one now tries to avoid it and it pisses him off cuz he still gets shocked. Any of your passengers complain or ever get shocked??

It doesnt matter what kind of car, its static electricity, and is more prominent in winter when the air is dryer. When you slide on your seat to get out, it creates electricity stored in yoru body, reach for the metal door ZAP

Yep....in the last month or so I've been getting nailed getting out of my car. Where's that warm weather!

Zap!!

Yeah, the shock is annoying, but you do get used to it. My girlfriend and I get shocked every time (She usually gets shocked worse than I do). I just rest my arm on the door as I get out so it doesn't shock me as bad.

here's a little trick to ground yourself before getting out of the car:

when you get out of the car, once you open the door, grab onto the A pillar and pull yourself out of the seat, make sure you keep your hand on the A pillar before stepping onto the ground. By grabbing the A pillar you release the static charge you built up while you were sitting in the driver's seat.

I believe it's the fabric of our seats that makes us so easily charged!!
