MP3 or MD players?
im trying to decide wether or not to upgrade my old SL-CT570 Panasonic CD player. i lost the stupid remote and ear buds (which will probably turn up AFTER i buy something new). so i want to get something new but can't decide on that either.
who has an md player? how do you like it? same goes for people with mp3
anyone have the remote pictured below + earbuds?

What do you plan on using it for? I use my mp3 player while I exercise (needless to say it doesn't get used very often anymore). I was looking into getting a MD player, and they're really sweet, but since most of my songs are in mp3, I'd have to buy extra equipment to easily write the mp3s to a MD. Too much time and money for me, so I got a cheapo Diamond Rio 500 64 meg, I love it. However, if I had the money, I'd DEFINATELY get an iPod. They are THEEEEEEE bomb. I'd say go with MP3, it's way easier to move around music files (if you have them on your PC that is).

I got an MD many years before, some years later I regret it a bit because I didn't have the patience to wait for the thing to record in real time. I got it over a MP3 then because MP3's were not as developed then, flash memory for it was expensive and I liked the better sound quality of MDs due to the higher stream rate.
But then MP3 became more advanced and flash memory becaome cheapers. But today I would get Sony's nifty net MDs, since they have almost all the capabilties of MP3, such as recording from computer via USB cable, MDLP (allows for 4 times the normal amount of music to be recorded onto one MD), and sounds better?
But in the end the money is yours.
Good luck on your purchase.

i did some reasearch and MD's can hold a hellva lot more than MP3 players for the dollar.
1 MD disc can hold 320mins of music for about $1CAD
1 CF card can hold 200 min of music for about $80CAD
the players are both the same amount 200 CAD.

I have a citizen mp3 cd player, I got it for 65 bucks at costco regular 80 or so but mine was opened and didn't have the instructions like I needed them or anything... but a 80 min cd full of mp3s RULES. and it has 120 sec antiskip for mp3 and 45 for regular cds.. and it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good on batteries..
I like it more than a MD player because I can still play regular cds in it. I don't need a discman and a md player or anything..

I've got a Sony net MD and love it. If you don't care about size (and have a cd burner) I'd just go with an MP3 CD player. If size is of concern, I think MD is the way to go. Transfer rates may be a little slower than MP3 players, but Its not bad with the new net MD's. BTW I usually put twice the music on an MD rather than four times... compressed that much you can sometimes noticed the difference in sound. Even so, 160 minutes for a couple dollars...
