The most important poll ever......

Only two cars left in the whole world, which one do you take? KITT, or The General Lee?

Yeah but KITT didn't have doors that were welded shut. The General is this shiznit for sure in my book. I would take The General Lee hands down. ALso did KITT have a big *** confederate flag on the top of it? I don't think so.

General Lee 4 Sure!!!

There's no way KITT could be reliable transportation. I mean, something on the Gen. Lee breaks down, and there's a 99.9% chance that you'll be able to fix it yourself with the medium sized toolbox you keep in the trunk. If KITT's programming goes haywire, you wouldn't even be able to get the stupid trunk open (car'd probably go crazy one day and fill itself with noxious gas and kill you off).

Now if the specification was I get my choice of car, plus the whole Knight Rider team, truck, and computer lab... nah... I'd probably still take the Gen. Lee...

....of course, I *would* repaint it... same orange, but that silly flag has got to go

General Lee could jump over 18 wheelers at will.
And if you take the flag away,it wouldnt be the General Lee no more!!I dont give a sh*t about the flag, since no friggin canadian knows what it stands for.(or do they??)
General Lee hands down.

Short History Lesson

The General Lee was named after the famous Southern General Robert E. Lee of American Civil War fame. You're absolutely right, the car would not be the General Lee without the flag, as the Confederate flag was the flag under which the Confederate States of America fought.

A lot of people today associate this flag with slavery and ignorant hillbilly southern pride. Having migrated from the North to the South as a child, I would say the truth is probably more of the latter. While civil rights is still not pretty in the South today, it's pretty mild compared to the 50's/60's. But you will still hear some ignorant people claim that a) they're proud to be an American and b) the South should have won (probably in the same sentence too).

I'm still not sure how the Networks got away with it on that show... by the mid-90's, most of the state and federal buildings in the South that were still flying the Confederate flag were forced to take them down via court cases.

Of course, I'm not afraid of bashing these hillbillies here... if it didn't say Dodge, Chevy, or Ford, they wouldn't drive it.

Now, we all know this poll is completely irrellevant. Mad Max drove the Last V8, and that was a 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe

Um OK but here's one more thing in favor for The General. Did KITT have a fresh *** horn that went, 'DA DA DA DA DUH DUH DUH DA DA DUH DUH DUH DA', or however the hell you would type out that song. Plus The General's suspension was far superior to KITT's, as far as being able to withstand the higher jumps.

In response to Brubeck..."Of course, I'm not afraid of bashing these hillbillies here..." You say these ignorant people still claim they're proud to be Americans? First of all I would like to say that I'm form the "ignorant south" and I'm a hillbilly (I'm just edumacated). Second, was it people like you that had the pledge of allegiance removed form schools? And last, would you have been rushing into the building during Sept 11th or out? I since some doubt in your patriotism? Anyway I know where my people would've been. And my people have resisted changing their traditional ways but their American values have always stayed the same. As for the cars go it's the General Lee all the way. You just can't beat all the abuse that car took (and came out looking showroom clean every time) and that horn! Kit had that annoying voice and where was the flux-copasitor?

I have to agree on the Mad Maxx Car. KITT would go crazy and the Gen Lee would get ya shot stabbed and mangled.
