Lightbulb Wow

That's extraordinary-- Like being in a time warp back to 1985...

And the specs on this car are equally extraordinary-- No fuel injection?! I can't believe there's still an engine being built in a production passenger car in the 21st Century that doesn't have that.

Unfortunately, in some ways it shows you how far behind much of Africa is compared to other modernized countries.

Holy cow. I didn't think you meant the OLD old 323.

And it's a "party in vehicle form." It says so.

4 lug rims??
That front end looks different too.
It says that it comes with a 1.8l engine too.
I wonder if that would be the BP engine?? Or the FP-DE??
If it was the BP that would be cool cause it might give new hope for someone that wants a BPT in their 3rd gen perhaps??

More fun than breathing helium,

just to be clear, that is NOT A FIRST GEN PROTEGE. It would be a zeroth gen, aka late 1980s 323.

I'm sure you're aware that VW still sells the "old" Beetle in Mexico, and I think Brazil and ****. Actually I remember hearing something about that, I think that they're discontinuing production sometime soon.
And, I'm not sure if they still do, but I seem to remember that they still sell Chevettes in Brazil.
Personally I think thats the **** that they still sell the older cars there, or somewhere, its a new source of body and engine parts, well I guess if you REALLY wanted to import them from Africa.

I wish there was some interior pics and more detailed information...I'd love to have one of these as a second car to mess around in.

I think that production of the old bug actually ended when the new one roled out. They finally shut the lines down and modernized them (a bit) to handle the new car.
