Okay, we just had another baby last month and our Protege is getting a bit cramped. There is a mid-late 90's Mazda MP3 4WD minivan up the road from us for sale, and it has about 138k miles. This would only really be a weekend troop carrier since the wife drives the Protege and I drive my Sentra. How reliable and dependable are the AWD MPVs? How are the 4WD systems, transmissions, engines, etc....? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ! ! ! !

I can't speak for the AWD MPVs (so I don't know if this will help), but I owned a '91 rear wheel drive MPV with the V6. Great van, it did a lot and we never had any major problems. My ex ended up with it and sold it around 2004, for all I know it is still running today.
