Mazda 2, yes 2, MAY come to USA

The new Mazda 2 debuted in Geneva may come to the USA in 1.5L 101bhp (100 lb-ft) form to compete against the Honda FIT.

I like it! A Mazdaspeed 2 with say 200bhp?! 200bhp maybe asking much, but a 170bhp turbocharged version in a 2200 lb car sold in the mid teens would be a great success IMO. The base version weighs in at just over 2,100 lbs

Looks like a Peugeot 206 ... but I like it. Very economical I'm sure and a lot of people would buy it over the Fit. Wouldn't be a bad move on Mazda's side.

It actually probably won't according to Mazda...

However a rebadged Mazda2 in the form of a Ford Fiesta, WILL be coming to North America in 2008

Why can't ford give me my mid-engine rwd Yamaha-powered Festiva?? Is that too much to ask?
