i think ref's should be fined by the league for crap like that. you miss a foul, fine that's part of the game.
The refs actually are subject to fines. The league reviews each game afterwards (especially when a technical foul has been called) and the refs can be fined for particularaly bad calls, and/or be demoted to ref'ing "less important" games (eg. Nuggets vs. Warriors). The fines don't compare to what the players are fined, but the salaries are also not comparable

Cheers,

Eric

Actually, if it were called, the foul would have been on Bibby. A defensive player is not allowed to impede an offensive player who is moving to the ball, unless his feet are set, and his arms are in or straight up. If you look at the play, Bibby is not only moving backwards, but he has his arm wrapped completely around Kobe's body, holding him. Not trying to take sides, just stating the rules.

Cheers,

Eric
but Bibby's feet WERE set. He was in between the ball and Kobe. Bibby had his arm on Kobe, but was not holding his body. Whenever you're defending someone, if they're running around, you try and touch them since you can take your eyes away from them and look at the passer and still know where your check is. In any case, Kobe tried to shake lose and elbowed Bibby. He didn't do it intentionally of course, but a big elbow like that has to be called a flagrant foul.

c'mon bo, you know it was intentional. he's (kobe)been in a few confrontations/incidents when really he didn't need to be. and how many elbows are unintentional?

the kings didn't deserve the win anyhow. they blew a 24pt lead in game 4 and couldn't close the lakers out in the close games that followed. it wasn't their year, altho it looked promising. but if they had peja at 100%, who knows?

the nets were the underdog in every playoff game even tho they were the 1 seed, and each time they pulled off the "upset". :sarcastic: so, i'm gonna doubt the nets so that they win.

the lakers suck.

Lakers in 4

I thought Celtics had the chance, but their last three losses, besides Pierce and Walker no one stood up to help them out. They were great as a team of 5, not a team of 2!
Those were my words! I knew this was going to happen, and it did. The most boring NBA Finals ever, after such an amazing year of regular season and playoffs. I didn't watch a single final game, because I knew how pathetic teh Nets would look against Lakers. The East was absolutely no match for the West this year. But congrats to all the Lakers fan! I am lloking towards another great NBA season.

Watching the Finals last night and right after the 2nd half.. I fell asleep! LOL! That's how boring it was! When I woke up the game was over and the Laker's won.. I'm sure glad I slept through the game! Hee Hee! I agree this is the most boring NBA Finals that I've seen.

the east better pick it up next year. maybe a healthy g. hill for the magic? or a few nice trades that'll send payton over to the magic alongside tmac and hill?

Shaq is too powerful

that freak of nature is unstoppable. It's like a grown man playing with little kids. As long as Shaq and Kobe are on the same team, they can put any **** players around them and they'll still win championships.

Some of them western conference big men should follow Kidd's footstep and come to the weak Eastern conference so they don't knock each other out in the first 2 rounds.

Thumbs down I Knew It

Well, I hate to say it, but I was right. The whole time I was saying that New Jersey didn't stand a crying chance of beating L.A., and last time I checked, their *** got swept straight out of the series. At home, to boot.

What a pisser. And, what's worse, they're going to do it again next year. And, not wishing to be a pessimist, I'd bet they're going to do it through Portland. Again.

All I can say is this kind of domination gets boring after awhile. With no balance between the East and West, and with no one anywhere able to play the Lakers through the pressure (the Kings choked and couldn't handle it), all we're going to see for the next several years is Lakers this, Lakers that. Blah, blah, blah...

Son of a bitch.
