Yep, I'm sure it will take years before things are better down there. They are going to have one heck of a mosquito problem too and mosquitos can carry all sorts of diseases *yuck*. I listened to a report from the Mayor (I think) and he was talking about all of the problems with the druggies and gangs and how f*ed (pardon my French) up things were before this happened. Just think about them rescuing those people and shipping them to your hometown...yikes we are going to have problems not only in NOLA, but also in Houston, Dallas, Little Rock, OKC...anywhere they are being sent to.
*heavy sigh* Pray, pray, pray.

you know at work today we all had many conversations about this and its hard not to feel bad and angry at the same time. its sad people are in this situation regardless of it they evacuated or not. its sad this city thats 5-10 feet below sea level was built and "protected" with leves that apparently did not work. its sad that we think we can shape a land and be fooled into some sort of confidence that we will always make it through. in might sound F up but i say dont re build the city at all, cause for the next 5-10 years it will all be band-aids anyways and with some walls of water like 10-20 feet high what man made objects could survive it, maybe once or even twice but in the end mother nature has always prevailed and will continue to. its why I prefer to live in the mountains
